Ehrlich and O'Malley

This year we're going to hear a lot of crap out of the Left and the Right about one another in the gubernatorial race. Oh yay, I can't freaking wait. We've got a lose-lose choice, no matter who wins.

Ehrlich, for those who forgot, deregulated BGE. How's that working out for you, personally? I pay $700 a month because my house was built in 1942. I can't afford to weatherproof it. Not after being unemployed last year. I was lucky I didn't lose my house. I can't get a home equity loan because I have no equity. And at $700 a month, guess what? I ain't gonna get any extra money any time soon to be able to afford to weatherproof it and make it all green.

And O'Malley... Believe, hon! Believe in what? He spent $32,274,176,097 in FY 2010. How's our MD economy going? I don't know about your neighborhood, but most of the people on my street in Parkville are collecting unemployment. That's the people whose benefits haven't run out yet. 7.7% unemployment as of February 2010. That's almost one out of every ten Marylanders out of work.

They talk a lot and promise a lot, but the Left can't freaking deliver anything. They won the White House and the Senate and couldn't agree with each other enough to pass Health Care. They had to send a limping wounded bill through a compeltely inappropriate venue to push through a "victory" for Obamacare.

The Tea Party on the Right are mostly nuts too. Don't get me wrong, I agree with a lot of their points, but they get all extreme and crazy. Start forming militias and shit. The liberals on the left are all talking down to America and acting all crazy too, saying all Republicans are gun-toting nut jobs for Jesus.

I'm sorry, but damn it, there's nothing for the Center anymore. What about us? What about the people who are Christian, but don't shove our religion down your throat? The people who are pro jobs, but don't think the corporations should be allowed to fuck us up the ass while the government spreads our cheeks for them? The people who think the government should help citizens get health insurance, but who have been through the Social Services nightmare and see that government can't even manage its own social workers, let alone the social needs of my family?

The moderates. What about us? We just want to have our sports cars for Dad, our minivans for Mom, and a vacation to Ocean City once or twice a year. We want to be able to go to the dentist, the eye doctor, and the chiropractor when we need it without having to give up our kids' summer camp fund. We want to send our kids to college, and we want them to have jobs when they get out of college so they don't move back in with us. We want to be able to send our parents to the nursing home when they can't remember who we are anymore without worrying about them getting raped, stolen from, or left to mildew in their own urine. We want our kids to be able to do their homework without worrying about some perverted school IT guy turning on the laptop's camera to spy on them. We want the government to foster the growth of business while protecting the consumers.

The Republicans won't do it, and neither will the Democrats. This coming election is a joke. I hate it, my precious. No matter who wins, we lose.
